About Us | Pro-active Physiotherapy

Company Director / Chartered Physiotherapy

Marianne Alexander

Company Director & Chartered Physiotherapist

Pro-Active Physiotherapy Troon & Stewarton

Our dedicated Senior Physiotherapist Marianne has over 10 years experience working in private practice. This has provided her with a wealth of knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, and the passion to establish Pro-Active Physiotherapy in 2022. She has a strong focus on helping individuals move better, feel stronger and return to activities that matter most to them.

She gained her first degree at Dundee University in Sports Biomedicine (BSc), followed up with a Master's Degree in Physiotherapy (MSc) at Queen Elizabeth University in Edinburgh. In her early career Marianne worked in the NHS rotating through different specialties such as neurological, surgical and intensive care wards, as well as in the community. Marianne quickly specialised in MSK Physiotherapy and transitioned into private practice, where she has gained extensive experience in the most up to date treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. Marianne has a patient-centred approach, combining hands-on treatment with tailored rehabilitation plans.

She has developed a strong interest in the rehabilitation of both joint and muscular injuries, including back and neck pain. Having worked with rugby teams, Marianne has a keen interest in the assessment and treatment of sporting injuries, spurred on by her own personal sporting interests. She is also an APPI-trained Pilates instructor, providing 1:1 sessions.

Marianne enjoys spending time with her young family and keeping active through her own hobbies. She is a keen runner and has challenged herself to marathons and half marathons. More recently, she has developed an interest in Hyrox and likes to compete for fun. Consequently, she can appreciate the toll training takes on your body, mind, and the importance of staying injury-free in the run up to these events.

Lynsay Wilson

  Company Director & Chartered Physiotherapist

Pro-Active Physiotherapy Troon

Lynsay is an experienced Senior Physiotherapist specialising in musculoskeletal injuries, orthopaedics, and rehabilitation. She holds an MSc in Physiotherapy from Glasgow Caledonian University (2011) and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Stirling, giving her a well-rounded understanding of both the physical and psychological aspects of recovery.

With over 15 years of clinical experience across the NHS, private healthcare, and sports settings, Lynsay brings a wealth of knowledge to her practice. She spent more than a decade at Ross Hall Hospital, Scotland’s largest private hospital and rehabilitation facility, where she specialised in treating musculoskeletal conditions and guiding patients through post-operative recovery.

Lynsay regularly treats a wide range of conditions including back and neck pain, sports injuries, joint problems, tendon injuries, and post-surgical rehabilitation. She has also contributed to internationally published rehabilitation guidelines following the pioneering Internal Brace surgical technique, reflecting her commitment to evidence-based practice and innovation.

Her experience includes working in Melbourne, Australia as an advanced physiotherapist, where she treated a diverse caseload and developed exercise-led rehabilitation programmes. She is also APPI-trained in Clinical Pilates and delivers tailored sessions, including pre- and post-natal care.

Lynsay is known for her warm, empathetic approach and her ability to understand how injury impacts every aspect of a patient’s life. She combines hands-on treatment, personalised exercise programmes, Pilates, taping, and the latest evidence-based techniques to help patients recover, move better, and return to the activities they enjoy.

Outside of work, Lynsay enjoys staying active and spending time with her young family.
